![]() I thought Safari was supposed to be more efficient than Chrome and Chrome is supposed to be a battery killer. And Chrome was using only half to 70% of that Safari was using! Especially that Erik's nevada blog website, I let this website run for hrs, it Chrome didn't use any more ram than it did hrs before(which Safari were using more and more ram for this page as time goes on). ![]() ![]() If you really want to test or see the webpage then ijust search Erik's Nevada Blog, and let it run in the back for an hour, the longer you put that website on the more ram Safari uses!Īnyway, so I did a test, which I open all the tabs opened in Safari and copy them to Chrome, in the same order, same pages. Then I saw a few websites were using like 1.5G of ram each! What's even more weird is that even the 4k Netflix and 4k Youtube videos were using that much ram, the ones that were using 1G+ ram are very simple webpage with only pictures and words like news site or wikipedia(but not actually wiki). When I say "SO MUCH" ram I am not kidding! Ever since I switched from Chrome to Safari(For the 4K Netflix) my M1 iMac has been showing the warning in Safari webpages " This website is using significant amount of memory!" then I opened Activity Monitor to see why.
